Insider Buying Week 04-11-25 Every Bear Market Ends with a Tsunami of Insider Buying

What a great time to be an insider. Every bear market since 2001 has only ended with a plethora, a tsunami of insider buying. Nothing like that has yet happened. Pay close attention to what Insiders are doing with their own money. Pay NO attention to buy-back announcements unless they are backed with real actions.  Many buy-backs are more aspirational than real. Buy-backs are often just an attempt to keep the share count stable from all the share issuances. Insider Buying Week 04-04-25 Provides No Hope for Bulls

As measured by the S&P 500, the market declined by 9.1% last week, its worst performance since the Covid crash in March 2020. And like Covid, it felt as if we were at the beginning of something ominous, unknown, and even deadly. Insider buying, which normally boosts markets confidence, was conspicuously absent due to the quarterly blackout that keeps most insiders sidelined 30 days prior to the end of their quarterly reporting period and until after they report earnings. Most insiders will not be involved in insider buying during the next two to three weeks.  No help coming from them. … Read more

Insider Buying week 12-17-21

Curious how well insiders are doing with their buys? Click on this link or image above to scroll the significant buys of the last year. Microsoft dipped 0.3% Friday, bringing its weekly decline to nearly 5.5%. Alphabet and Apple fell more than 4%. A handful of tech stocks have been propelling the major averages all year and it’s only natural to see some profit-taking.  I tried to borrow some ARKK stock but there was none available to short. Betting against Infinite multiples has been the most reliable trade of the last month. There was somewhat of a short squeeze on … Read more

Bed Bath Beyond Dog Howls 17% Last Week after Insider Buy

Here is the link to the trades- Once again Bed Bath Beyond BBBY teaches us you can make a lot of money from a bad stock if you buy it right. That’s certainly what Director Suge Gove did after the Company reported earnings, the stock cratered, and every analyst trash talked the company down.  Gove scooped up 34,000 shares at $7.89 and by weeks end was up 17%.  Not bad, Suge; I bet you wish you could sell. Insiders are subject to short swing rules that prohibit doing just that.  BBBY seems on terminal descent with Amazon, Wayfair, and now … Read more

Fog of coronavirus war; where is the insider buying?

They say we are in a war with Covid-19. Like most wars there is a lack of quality information. We look closely at insiders to gauge the health of corporate America. There is this narrative that insiders are buyer. That’s a false narrative. I don’t see it. Maybe it’s earnings blackout, maybe it’s the sharp off the bottom rally since March 25th, or maybe they are just deer frozen in the headlights like the rest of us.  You decide. PICK OF THE WEEK Carnival Cruise Lines Thursday April 9th 2020 SMPL Simply Good Foods Dir Ghez bought 30,000 at $16.32. This … Read more
