Insider Buying 02-07-25 The Frenzy Underneath Continues

Screw theVIX, its become irrelvant until it doesn’. and it certainly doesn’t seem to matter now.The market did not look pretty last week, and Friday’s consumer sentiment confirmed it.  People poll and say that want change but they don’t seem to want change fast. That’s why companies staying private r have more freedom to enact bold management, strategic, or financial maneuvers.  We already know that markets don’t like uncertainty. Why should we think consumers want anything different? ‘t short Nvidia

The market had it’s fugazi moment last week, when the world in one resounding mini crash concluded Nvidia might have limits on its unfettered growth and reign supreme. Skepticism is healthy. Analysts have been talking about the different needs of AI from training to inference but suddenly an open source research paper and LLM model named Deep Seek upended the entire AI industry. A Chinese hedge fund named High Flyer created it.  Boy, did they even nail that name.  You just have to wonder was this a giant short by High Flyer. If so, it was probably the best trade … Read more

Insider Buying Week 08-02-24

Someone wrote last week that the situation in the market was ripe for a crash, reminiscent of the Crash of 1987. I lived through that, so I have some personal observations. The Fed had been hiking rates into a rising market. The market had become increasingly schizophrenic, rising sharply, then falling. Unlike then, the Fed has clearly signaled that it has stopped raising rates and plans to reduce them. Rates were also high, but the market had risen for nearly a decade and was due for a correction.  The Fed Chairman hiked one time too many, and the market swooned.  … Read more

Insider Buying Week 5-26-23

It’s all AI, Chat GPT, large langauge models, and generative image models. Nvidia’s blowout quarter and guidance sent the market into a bull run seizure moment.  Meanwhile, you hear more and more stories about fake information generated by this “breakthrough AI,” including the latest example on Twitter where an attorney was reprimanded by a judge for his brief, which included fake prior cases entirely fabricated by AI. We can’t ignore the promise, but we certainly shouldn’t be blindsided by the hype. Tread carefully here. At the Insiders Fund, we try to filter out the noise. Here’s what real insiders are … Read more

Notable Insider Buys Week Ending May 10, 2019

The market suffered its worse loss of the year, but that didn’t stop some insiders buying their own stock. We highlight those over $200,000 in this report. In this report, we highlight open market purchases from employees and directors of more than $200,000.  Insiders sell stock for many reasons, but they generally buy for just one – to make money.  As a standard, we only look at material amounts of money, $200 thousand or more, as anything less could just be window dressing. The bar is different from selling because the natural state of management is to be sellers. This … Read more
