Fathers Day Insider Buying Week 06-14-24

The post took a backseat to Father’s Day last week. Looking closely, you can see me with DJI FPV goggles next to my son at Tunnel Park. In the background, the sun sets over Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. Considering the quarter end and recurring blackout period, there was an unusual amount of insider buying.  I will update the rest of the entries, so check back later in the week for more. Insider Buying Week 05-03-24 Insiders are Putting their Toes back in the Water

At least half of the quarterly earnings are behind us, and the blackout window is opening. This week, insider buying has steadily picked up. We have some large insider buys this week in Marquis names. There could be some gems here, and I’m giving you my first crack at them.  Meanwhile, if it weren’t for the massive amount of Government spending already added to the cake from Covid handouts, the Inflation Reduction Act, and Infrastructure Acts ,the Fed’s high-interest rate regime would already be bringing the economy to its knees, in my opinion. Another week of near-nonexistent insider buying, accompanied by many stocks making 52-week highs or all-time highs.

Another week of near-nonexistent insider buying, accompanied by many stocks making 52-week highs or all-time highs.  Beat and raise quarters by Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon pushed the averages higher even with the Fed-dampening interest rate cut expectations and Friday’s blowout job numbers. The market reversed direction Friday and headed higher. Once the rash of normal insider selling after earnings subsides, the market seems higher to me. If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, and swims like a duck, it’s a bull market, especially if you own Microsoft, Nvidia, and Amazon.   Apparently, you don’t need insider participation for … Read more

First Carvana now Cassava Short Sellers get Mauled Insider Buying Week 8-19-22

“All good things come to an end,” so the saying goes. They don’t all come to an end bumping up against the 200-day moving average, though. The historic run in the market began to look just like a bear market rally with Friday’s across-the-board sell-off. The market notched its first losing week in the last five. This week had something very everyone. Short sellers got slaughtered betting against Carvana and Cassava but got their reprieve with the news that Ryan Cohen dumped his Bed Bath and Beyond.  BBBY cratered 40%, meme stocks like AMC and GameStop got crushed, and Bitcon … Read more

Curious how well insiders are doing with their buys? Click on this link or image above to scroll the significant buys of the last year. I’ve been monitoring insider behavior and how it impacts stock prices for about as long as anyone out there I haven’t seen much that shocks me or changes my perception of the usefulness of this information.  Now I have.  Normally significant insider buying will put a floor on a down-trending stock.  That’s changed with SPACS.  No matter how encouraging the news is or robust the insider buying is, when you have big shareholders waiting in … Read more

Insider Buying week 11-19-21- Insiders are Stepping up

Curious how well insiders are doing with their buys? Click on this link or image above to scroll the significant buys of the last year. This report is going to be delayed due to a funeral I had to attend for my dear first cousin’s, husband, who passed away at 75years of age. It brought me back to Savannah, my hometown, on the marsh and waterways of Skidaway Island. I will get to the opinion pieces as I write the Insiders Report for myself. It’s my way of processing insider buying.  And there was a lot of it, this time … Read more

‘s Getting Interesting- Insider Buying Picks Up Week Ending 8-9-19

After weeks of dull action, insider buying has finally picked up. Part of it is the end of 2nd Quarter earnings blackout and part of it is the market sell-off.  The highlights: Charlie Egren, the founder of Dish, is making a massive bet on 5G, buying assets in the pending TMobile Sprint network and committing billions to buy more bandwidth.  Its a bet the farm expensive gamble on a player late to the game.  But if the competing networks are slow in getting 5G rolled out, Dish might be able to lumber in and get a piece of the future … Read more

Most interesting insider buys and sells from last week

The first every buy from Exxon Mobil XOM controller Patrick Mulva steps up and purchases $1 million at $89 on 3/13/13.  We are all over this one.  There are plenty of catalysts.  Exxon is a major player in the U.S. domestic gas market via its ill timed purchase of XO Energy. Natural gas usage is picking up momentum.  We’ve been blogging about this over the last two days and have done very well with our purchase of  Dresser Rand.  Also the refinery business is very lucrative for XOM.  They are the world’s largest refinery.  Have you noticed the price action of … Read more
