Curious how well insiders are doing with their buys? Scroll through the blog posts and see for yourself Last week, the market reversed its sour mood with a thunderous rally propelling the S&P 500 by 3.52%. Our insider buys did even better, notching an average of 5.73% returns. Heavily shorted stock, no matter how poor their prospects doubled that. It was the classic case of everybody on the same side of the seesaw.  In keeping with the old adage, the market will figure out how to screw most people most of the time.   Name: Robert J Mylod Jr Position: … Read more

We try to figure out why when just about anything you buy goes down.  With war raging in Europe, Russia weaponizing energy, the Fed on an aggressive tightening path, and the uncertainty of upcoming midterm elections, what’s there not to like? U.S. equities fell again on Friday, marking six continuous days of sell-offs, aided by the fears that the Federal Reserve would keep aggressively hiking interest rates to fight inflation, … Read more

Insider Buying Week 8-26-22 Jerome Powell Debuts at Jackson Hole as “Chucky “

Curious how well insiders are doing with their buys? Scroll through the significant buys of the last year. Friday was a blood bath. The Dow dropped 1000 points. Jerome Powell played Chucky, the criminally insane doll that came to life.  With stunning, chameleon-like performance, he morphed into Paul Volcker, warning the investment community about the pernicious destructive nature of inflation.  Volcker is the Fed Chairman that was famous for crushing the inflation of the 1970s by running interest rates into the high teen percentage points. I personally think it was the most boneheaded policy I’ve lived through. the economic equivalent … Read more

This report is going to be delayed due to a funeral I had to attend for my dear first cousin’s, husband, who passed away at 75years of age. It brought me back to Savannah, my hometown, on the marsh and waterways of Skidaway Island. I will get to the opinion pieces as I write the Insiders Report for myself. It’s my way of processing insider buying.  And there was a lot of it, this time … Read more

The Bold, the Inexplicable and the Good Soldiers- Insider Buying Week 9-17-21

For trade, details click on this link to the trades.  There were quite a few buys last week and it took me longer than usual to update it. Also, I will provide a brief recap of the conversation I had with the Chief Medical Officer, Alexander A. Zukiwski at Casi Pharmaceuticals. Casi is a U.S. NASDAQ-listed biotech selling exclusively to the increasingly affluent Chinese middle class.  CASI is a penny stock that will turn into $dollars if things pan out the way I think. They have one approved revenue-producing product with an exciting pipeline. There is a high probability they … Read more

A Busy Week of Insider Buying 8-20-21 and $CASI, a 10 bagger in 2 Years

For trade, details click on this link to the trades.  If there’s one name on this list that I think offers extraordinary opportunity, it would be Casi Pharmaceuticals. It’s been a painful holding for us but take a look at our analysis. CASI looks like a 10 bagger in two years or less. There is something very different now about this stock market than the one we started the year with.  There has been a steady collapse in speculative fervor across the entire market.  You only have to look at the embodiment of it, notable fund manager superstar, Kathie Woods … Read more

Mercury General Auto Insurer Chairman Puts the Petal to the Metal

Mercury General Chairman George Joseph buys $9.2 Million more of this California property and casualty insurer.  MCY  with a current 6.4% dividend yield and a 34 year history of consecutive dividend raises, looks particularly tempting.  It’s off 44% from its high and the Chairman of the Board has bought $24 million worth of the company’s stock in the last 10 days. People are driving less, auto claims are down. The potential loss of reinvestment income due to lower bond rates seems overstated by this drop in price. Besides Mercury has been historically a  relatively bigger player in the equity markets, … Read more

Insiders Put the Petal to the Metal as Animal Spirits Show Signs of Life

Animal spirits are picking up.  This is the most buying we’ve seen since the market sell-off last December. One thing for sure, Insiders buy stocks when they think they are cheap.  Highlights are: Several insiders bought GE stock immediately prior to and immediately after Harry Markapolis’s interview on CNBC where he alleged fraud. Axogen Chairman bought $1 million worth of stock after the company she leads plunged 30% on weaker earnings forecast Outdoor billboard leader, Clear Channel newly appointed Chairman bought $913k at $2.28 per share.  CCO is loaded with debt.
