Aug. 30 (Bloomberg) — The global economic crisis is leading to a possible “developed economy” recession in the U.S. and Europe, which may be hard to alleviate, according to Pacific Investment Management Co.’s Bill Gross. (Reuters) – The risk of a new U.S. recession has risen over the last couple of months, but an outright contraction will most likely be avoided, Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank President Dennis Lockhart said on Monday. Aug. 11 (Bloomberg) — Central bankers are racing to shield their economies from fiscal tightening and lopsided currency swings that threaten a new global recession.
