Insider Buying Week 12-08-23 Energy Swooned, Some Insiders Stepped Up

As we go into the final turn of the year, expect some modest profit-taking in the Magnificent Seven. I expect some good opportunities if mortgage rates drop enough for people trapped in their homes to make a move. The purchase this week by National Storage’s Co-Chairman adds some credence to this. The stock has already rallied significantly, but storage should grow if we pick up the American tradition of musical chairs and home swapping. As EV demand wanes and the threat of hydrocarbons being replaced by renewables seems more like fantasy than policy, oil prices fall to levels not seen … Read more

Insider Buying Week 8-12-22 Full on Stampede to Buy Stocks

The S&P 500  has been on a tear.  It tacked on another 3% on top of last week’s, 4% gain. There was almost nothing that went down. Last Friday it was hard to find something that was not green on your screen. Check out Finviz’s Map of the Market below. It was a full-on stampede to buy stocks. Apple is approaching its all-time high. The money on the sidelines is pouring in. Slightly better CPI prints were the trigger, but inflation is not so easily tamed. For starters, don’t expect much help from lower energy prices. I just attended Denver … Read more

Curious how well insiders are doing with their buys?  Scroll the significant buys of the last year. And what to do about the Russian Ukraine war. It will get worse and it will drag China into an ever-deepening conflict with the West and Democratic regimes. The declaration of mutual support that Russia and China published in a 5000-word memorandum entitled Joint Statement of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on the International Relations Entering a New Era and the Global Sustainable Development was reminiscent of the Axis power alignment with Germany and Japan at the onset of WWII. If we’re headed to WWW3 is that a reason … Read more

More Insiders are Buying but the Selling is Relentless 3-4-22

Curious how well insiders are doing with their buys? Scroll the significant buys of the last year. All bear markets end in a crescendo, literally an explosion of insider buying.  I believe we are in a classic bear market.  The signposts are obvious.  Beat and raise quarters are met with yawns if not outright sell-offs. Good news is met with brief bouts of buying but soon dissipates into the underlying negative downward trend.  Of course, there are always stocks that work even in a bear market but it is much harder making money on the long side than it … Read more

Insiders were coming back in a pretty big way and then the virus redux hit on Friday.  Does it change anything?  It’s too early to read anything into it as insider buying will have as much as a 48 hour lag to real-world events as the SEC requires insiders to post their transactions within 2 days of making a purchase or sale.  We’ll know more by the end. of next week if the newest Covid … Read more

Curious how well insiders are doing with their buys? Click on this link or image above to scroll the significant buys of the last year. The game changes this week. Earnings restricted blackouts are winding down as most companies have now reported the 3rd quarter.  Insider buying ramped considerably and you should have a lot of fun reading this week’s blog post. There are a lot of tea leaves to pick through.  Insiders don’t explain the logic of their big purchases.  We have to let the dollars speak for themselves and we can only imagine what they are saying. The Bold, the Inexplicable and the Good Soldiers- Insider Buying Week 9-17-21

For trade, details click on this link to the trades.  There were quite a few buys last week and it took me longer than usual to update it. Also, I will provide a brief recap of the conversation I had with the Chief Medical Officer, Alexander A. Zukiwski at Casi Pharmaceuticals. Casi is a U.S. NASDAQ-listed biotech selling exclusively to the increasingly affluent Chinese middle class.  CASI is a penny stock that will turn into $dollars if things pan out the way I think. They have one approved revenue-producing product with an exciting pipeline. There is a high probability they … Read more

Insider Buying week 8-27-21

For trade, details click on this link to the trades.  I had a dream Friday morning about the stock market. I yelled out in my sleep, “everything is going up.” I woke up and it pretty much did exactly that. In a good market, almost all trades bounce sharply but the stickiness and real progress from there are what you have to measure. Perhaps deduct 4 or 5 percent from all the posted returns to determine your likely return as getting them at the same price or lower than the insider’s purchase cost is difficult to do since they almost … Read more

A Busy Week of Insider Buying 8-20-21 and $CASI, a 10 bagger in 2 Years

For trade, details click on this link to the trades.  If there’s one name on this list that I think offers extraordinary opportunity, it would be Casi Pharmaceuticals. It’s been a painful holding for us but take a look at our analysis. CASI looks like a 10 bagger in two years or less. There is something very different now about this stock market than the one we started the year with.  There has been a steady collapse in speculative fervor across the entire market.  You only have to look at the embodiment of it, notable fund manager superstar, Kathie Woods … Read more
